AN ACT further to amend the Malta Armed Forces Act, 1970.
BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and
consent of the House of Representatives, in this _present Par1iament as
sembled, and by the authority of the same, as follo'Ns:-

This Act may be cited as the Malta Armed Forces (Amend-
ment) Act, 1980, and shall be read and construed as one with the Malta
Armed Forces Act, 1970, hereinafter referred to as "the principal law".
Immediately after subsection (2) of section 4 of the principal
Amendment of
section 4
law there shall be added the following new subsection
of the
principallaw.
"(2A) It shall be lawful for the President by order to em
power any member of the force to exercise, in addition to any
functions, powers and duties he may have as a member of the
force, all or any one or more of the functions, powers and duties
as are by law vested in a member of the Malta Police Force and in
an officer of the Customs.".
