AN ACT further to amend the Constitution of Malta.

BE IT ENACTED by Her Majesty the Queen, by and with the

advice and consent of the House of Representatives of Malta, in this

present Par!iament assembled, and by the authoritty of the same, as

follows:-

l. This Act may be cited as the Constitution of Malta (Amend·

ment) Act,. 1974, and shaH be read and construed as one with the

ConstiitluJtjion of Mal;ta, llmreinalfter lrefurTed to as "the Constitlli-

tion".

Section 6 of the Constitution is hereby repealed

and in

(l) Subject to the provisions ·of subsrection (2) oif this

section, and of subsections (7) and (9) of s•ection 48 fl'nd of section

67 of this Consritution, if any other lruw is inconsistent with thi·S

Constitution, this Constitution ~hall' prevaH and the other lww

sha'l'l', to the extent orf the inconsistency, 1 be void.

(2) Where an Act of Pa!'Iiament provides that a law,

including a lww containing such provision, or any provision of

such law, shaH have effect notwithstanding any provision of

this Constitution, such law or provision thereof shaH prevaH

and shaH have full effect notwithstanding any provision of this

Constitution and any inconsistency therewith, and this Constic

tution shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be without

effect.".
