AN ACT further to amend the Housing Authority Act, 1976.

BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

consent of the Ho use of Representatives. in this present Parliament

assembled, and by th e authority of the same, as follows:-

I. This Aet may becited as the Housing Authority (Amendment)

Act, 1988, and shall be read and construed as o ne with the Housing

Authority Aet. 1976, hereinafter referred to as ~the principal Act ~.

In paragrapb (a) of subsei:lion (3) of section 4 of the principal

Act, for th e words "shall act through the agency of the Depanment of

Public Works~ there shall be substi tuted the words "may either act

through the agency of the Department of Works. or may carry out such

functions by means of a grant of contracts of works~.
