Verletzung der Verkehrsregeln

Die Präsidentin zieht in Betracht:

1. Die Staatsanwaltschaft des Kantons Glarus erhob am 7. Oktober 2020 fristge­recht Berufung (act. 23) gegen den freisprechenden Entscheid des Präsidenten des Kantonsgerichts Glarus vom 5. Mai 2020 im Verfahren SG.2020.00021 (act. 20) und erneuerte dabei ihre im vorinstanzlichen Verfahren gestellten Anträge auf Verurtei­lung und Bestrafung des Beschuldigten. In der Folge aber zog die Staatsanwalt­schaft mit Schreiben vom 20. Oktober 2020 die Berufung wieder zurück (act. 24).

2. Eine Berufung kann bis zum Abschluss des Schriftenwechsels zurückgezogen werden (Art. 386 Abs. 2 lit. b StPO i.V.m. Art. 406 Abs. 1 lit. c StPO). Dementspre­chend ist die Berufung der Staatsanwaltschaft mit Präsidialverfügung (Art. 31 Abs. 2 GOG/GL [GS III A/2]) als erledigt abzuschreiben.

3. Ausgangsgemäss sind die Kosten des vorliegenden Berufungsverfahrens auf die Gerichtskasse zu nehmen. Dem Beschuldigten ist im Berufungsverfahren kein Auf­wand erwachsen, sodass ihm keine Entschädigung zuzusprechen ist.
