In this case, an individual appealed against a decision made by the Cantonal Court regarding a violation of traffic rules and the restoration of a deadline. The court did not address the appeal because the appellant failed to submit a formal appeal declaration despite being repeatedly reminded to do so, claiming incapacitation due to an accident. The court determined that this claim needed to be substantiated with evidence, which the appellant did not provide, leading to the dismissal of the appeal. Additionally, the request for legal aid was denied as the legal requests were deemed hopeless, and the costs of the court proceedings were imposed on the appellant.

Urteil vom 12. März 2012

Strafrechtliche Abteilung

Besetzung

Bundesrichter Schneider, Einzelrichter,

Gerichtsschreiber C. Monn.

Verfahrensbeteiligte

X.________,

Beschwerdeführer,

gegen

Oberstaatsanwaltschaft des Kantons Schwyz, Postfach 1201, 6431 Schwyz,

Beschwerdegegnerin.

Gegenstand
