ACT No. 111 of 1980
AN ACT further to amend the National Assistance Act, 1956.
BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and
consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament
assemb1ed, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
l. (l ) This Act may be cited as the National Assistance (Amend
ment) Act, 19 80, and shaH be read and construed as one with the
National Assistance Act, 1956, hereinafter referred to as "the principal
Act".
(2)
This Act sha11 have effect from the 17th day of November,
197 9.
(1) Dan l-Att jista' jissejjaħ l-Att ta' 1-1980 li jemenda l-Att
dwar l-Għajnuna Nazzjonali, u għandu jinqara u jiftiehem ħaġa waħda
ma' l-Att ta' 1-1956 dwar l-Għajnuna Nazzjonali, hawnhekk iżjed 'il qud
diem imsejjaħ ''l-Att prinċipali".
Dan l-Att għandu jkollu effett mis�17 ta' Novembru, 1979.

4. In sub-paragraph (e) of paragraph (vi) of the proviso to item (b)
Amendment of
the Seventh
of sub-paragraph (1 ) of paragraph 1 of the Seventh Schedule to the prin
Schedule to the
cipal Act, immediately after the words "the Old Age Pensions Act,
principal Act.
1948;" there shall be inserted the words "sohowever that in the case of
a head of household who is wholly maintaining his wife and who was
in receipt of sickness assistance at any time during December, 1979, the
part to be taken into account in accordance with this sub-paragraph
shall not exceed i5.50 per week;".
