Ordinance on the Management of the Uri Research Institute 'Cultures of the Alps' as a Higher Education Institution - Purpose

1. This ordinance aims to permanently establish and operate the Urner Research Institute Cultures of the Alps as a university with the aid of annually recurring support contributions from the Canton of Uri.

1. The canton supports the operation of the institute through a foundation with annual contributions.

1. The canton establishes a foundation for the financing of the institute's operations.

2. It may establish the foundation together with third parties.

1. The canton annually provides the foundation with a contribution towards the operating costs (personnel and material costs) of the institute. This contribution amounts to a maximum of 500,000 francs per year.

2. The government council must approve the foundation's budget in advance. It approves it, provided that it aligns with the foundation's purpose and the principles of appropriateness, efficiency, and economy.

1. The Executive Council enters into a program agreement with the Foundation to ensure the financing of the Institute's operations.

1. This regulation is subject to an optional referendum.

2. It shall enter into force on January 1, 2023.
