§ 42 Act on the Organisation of Courts and Authorities in Civil, Criminal and Administrative Court Proceedings (Judiciary Act, JusG) (Justizgesetz, JusG) - Composition of the Conciliation Authorities

1. The Cantonal Court shall determine in an ordinance

a. the number and the percentage of positions of the justices of the peace,

b. upon request from the joint conciliation authorities, the number of divisions, the number of members, and, where necessary, the percentage of positions.

2. Before the election by the Cantonal Council, the Cantonal Court shall submit the decisions regarding the number and employment grades of the justices of the peace to be elected, along with the necessary information about the members of the other conciliation authorities, to the Cantonal Council as a basis for the election.
