This Agreement contains provisions governing administrative and legal matters in the field of archives arising from the transfer of the municipal commune of Moutier (hereinafter: "the commune of Moutier") to the Republic and Canton of Jura (hereinafter: "the Canton of Jura").

This agreement exclusively concerns the archives related to the municipality of Moutier.

It is applicable only to complete archival series.

1. The term "archival series" refers to a set of documents or files of the same nature and function.

The State Archives of Bern transfer the following archival series to the Jura Cantonal Archives

a) recent plans of the municipality of Moutier: references AEBE VA A 20-21;

b) old plans of the municipality of Moutier: references AEBE VA B 65, 125-131;

c) registers of land properties and owners of the municipality of Moutier: references AEBE VA C 700-723, 904-910.

Following the transfer of the archives, the Jura Cantonal Archives undertake to mention the reference of the State Archives of Bern under the designation "Former Reference."

Following the transfer of the archives, the State Archives of Bern undertake to remove from their inventories the archive references that are no longer in their custody.

The data from the digital inventory corresponding to the physical series listed in Article 3, paragraph 2, are also transmitted by the State Archives of Bern to the Jura Cantonal Archives.

**Article 5: Cooperation between the State Archives of Bern and the Jura Cantonal Archives**

The cooperation between the State Archives of Bern and the Jura Cantonal Archives shall continue following the transfer mentioned in Articles 3 and 4. The State Archives of Bern may conduct further transfers if it is determined that documents, identified after the entry into force of this agreement, meet the requirements defined in Article 2. In such cases, this agreement shall be applicable. The Jura authorities may consult, under the usual conditions, the archives concerning the municipality of Moutier that remain in the canton of Bern after the entry into force of this agreement.

The competent authorities of the two cantons shall arrange the specifics of the transfer, particularly the timing of its occurrence and the matter of the related costs.

This agreement enters into force on January 1, 2026.
