Art. 79 Judicial Organisation Act (GOG) - Change in Employment Level Due to Birth or Adoption

1. Members in full-time positions at the regional courts who become parents through birth or adoption are entitled to reduce their employment level by a maximum of 20 percent. The employment level must not fall below 50 percent.

2. The entitlement to a reduction must be claimed no later than six months after the establishment of the parent-child relationship.

3. If a full-time member reduces their employment level, the affected regional court may, with their consent, increase the employment level of one or more of its other full-time members accordingly.

4. If the positions freed up due to the change in employment levels cannot be filled internally by the court, the Grand Council shall create a new judicial position and fill it.

5. Employment at a reduced level may commence as soon as another member has extended or newly commenced their duties to the extent of the reduction, but no later than the 1st of the month following one year after the establishment of the parent-child relationship.
