Ordinance on the residence of civil servants and employees
Statutory Text (3 Provisions)
1. Civil servants and employees may be required to reside within the canton or its immediate vicinity if they are engaged in
a) emergency, medical, and disaster services,
b) police or public order services,
c) standby, surveillance, or security services,
d) on-call, maintenance, or shift work,
e) caretaker services.
1. For the functions mentioned in § 1, residing within the canton or in its immediate vicinity may be generally mandated by service regulations and office ordinances or specifically ordered by the appointing authority on a case-by-case basis.
2. At the same time, it must be determined which neighboring area, according to the requirements of the relevant positions, is to be considered the immediate vicinity of the canton. If justified by the service, residing within the canton may also be required.
1. Exceptions are reserved for special cases where a further restriction on the choice of residence may be imposed for official reasons (living in a public administrative building or in its immediate vicinity, etc.).
