Art. 31 Law on the Grand Council (Grand Council Law, GCL)

1. The deputation consists of council members from the Bernese Jura and the French-speaking council members from the Biel-Seeland electoral district.

2. It represents in the Grand Council the concerns of the population of the Bernese Jura and the French-speaking population of the Biel-Seeland electoral district in matters that particularly affect them.

3. It has the right to request a separate vote count (deputation vote) for decisions of the Grand Council that particularly affect the Bernese Jura or the French-speaking population of the Biel-Seeland electoral district.
