1. The Road Traffic Office is under the supervision of the Department of Internal Affairs and Security.

Art. 2 Ordinance on the Organisation of the Road Traffic Office - External Customer Counters Official ↗

1. The Department of Motor Vehicles may establish external customer service counters with suitable third parties.

2. External customer service counters may be tasked with the following business transactions

a) Deposit, exchange, and destruction of license plates;

b) Issuance of interchangeable plates;

c) Cancellation of vehicle registration certificates;

d) Vehicle changes;

e) (Re-)entry into service of motor vehicles and trailers.

3. External customer service counters are operated under a performance agreement that requires the approval of the department. Execution oversight must be ensured.

4. For services provided at external customer service counters, an additional fee of 20 francs may be charged.
