State Treaty between the Cantons of Aargau and Zurich concerning the Fulfillment of Municipal Tasks for Fahr Monastery

1 The Political Municipality of Unterengstringen, the Municipality of Würenlos and the Fahr Monastery agree in a contract on the fulfilment of municipal tasks and services for the area of the Fahr Monastery in the following areas

a. Education,

b. Civil defence, shelter construction and protection of cultural property,

c. Waste management and carcase disposal,

d. Water supply and wastewater,

e. Home care services (Spitex),

f. Social assistance,

g. Youth counselling,

h. Fire brigade, heating system inspection and fire police.

2 In the area of civil defence, the contract requires the approval of the Canton of Zurich.

**Applicable Law**

If the contract, in accordance with Article 1, assigns a task to a municipality, then

a. the municipality applies its own law and the law of its canton, subject to any differing provisions in the contract;

b. the municipality is subject to supervision according to the law of its canton;

c. legal protection and state liability are governed by the law of its canton.

1 Disputes of the Contracting Parties Arising from the Contract Pursuant to Arbitration

Art. 1 shall be decided by an arbitral tribunal.

2 The arbitral tribunal shall consist of one representative from each of the three contracting parties. The contract shall regulate the details.

3 Decisions of the arbitral tribunal concerning public law monetary claims are equivalent to judicial judgments (Art. 80 para. 2 SchKG2).

State Treaty – Fulfilment of Municipal Tasks, Fahr Convent

The State Treaty may be terminated with a one-year notice period, effective at the end of a calendar year.

1 This State Treaty shall enter into force on 1 January 2008.

2 It shall be published in the Official Collections of Laws of both Cantons.
