RRE Nr 7 — Appeal Against Denial of Ordinary Naturalization Based on Long-Term Partnership and Cohabitation

Case Number RRE Nr 7 (LU_KG_999_RRE-Nr--7_2015-01-06)
Court / Authority
Decision Date
Jurisdiction Canton of Lucerne — Cantonal Courts (CH-LU)

Decision Summary (Facts, Holding & Outcome)

AI-structured

A governmental council reviewed an appeal concerning an application for ordinary naturalization, where the applicant had maintained a relationship with a Swiss citizen for approximately fifteen years and cohabited with them in the municipality for six years, including being in a registered partnership. The council reasoned that the long-standing, close relationship and cohabitation, mirroring the integration presumption found in marriage for facilitated naturalization, constituted a weighty factor supporting social integration that required specific consideration, distinguishing this applicant's situation from that of someone living within a purely foreign environment.

Rechtsprechung Luzern =====================
