ACT No. VI of 1980

AN ACT further to amend the Guest Houses and Holiday Furnislzed

Premises Act, 1974.

BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament

assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

(1) This Act may be cited as the Guest Houses and Holiday

Short tit1e and

commencement.

Fllrnished Premises (Amendment) Act, 1980, and shall be read and

construed as one with the Gllest Houses and Holiday Furnished Premises

Act, 1974, hereinafter referred to as "the principal Ad'.

(2) Paragraph (a) of section 2 of this Act shall have effect

from the 1st January, 1980.

Amendment of

Section 5 of the principal Act shall be amended as follows

secti on 5 of the

(a)

in subsection (2) thereof -

princi pal Act.

(i)

the first proviso thereto shall be deIeted; and

(ii) in the second proviso thereto for the words "Provided

further that" there shall be sllbstituted the words "Provided

that"; and

(b) in subsection (5) thereof for the words "not less than one

hundred pounds and not more than five hundred pounds" there

shall be substituted the words "one thousand pounds".
