AN ACT further to amend the Constitution of Malta.

BE IT RNACTED by the Pr,esiden.t, by and with the advice and

consent af the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament

assemblled, and by the authority of the sa.me, as follows:-

This Act may be cited as the Constitution af Malta (Amend- Short title.

ment) Act, 1977, and shaH be r,ead and oonstrued as one with the

Constitution of Malta, hereinafter refer,red to as "the Constitution".

Subsection (3) o[ section 32 orf the Constitution shal1 be A:mendmen·t of

section 32 of the

amended as follows

Oonsrtitution.

(a) immediate'ly after the words "Who has been lawfuJ!Iy

adopted" there shaii be inserted the words "before 1st January,

1977"; and

(b) at the end thereof there shall be added the words "For

the purposes of this Chapter, an adoption mad.e on or after 1st

January, 1'977, shaU be without efliect and any person adopted

aft~r that date sha]:l be treated as if he had not been adopted".
