§ 121 Constitution of the Canton of Basel-Country, (1984) - Objectives of Cantonal Economic Policy The canton encourages, in collaboration with the municipalities, a balanced development of the economy. It strives in particular to maintain a diverse economic structure and full employment. The encouragement measures must take into account the interests of small and medium-sized enterprises and agriculture, as well as the requirements of spatial planning and environmental protection. The canton aligns those of its activities that have economic importance with the objectives of cantonal economic and social policy.

Der Kanton fördert in Zusammenarbeit mit den Gemeinden eine ausgewogene Entwicklung der Volkswirtschaft. Er strebt dabei insbesondere die Erhaltung einer vielseitigen Wirtschaftsstruktur und die Vollbeschäftigung an.
Die Förderungsmassnahmen haben den Belangen der kleinen und mittleren Unternehmungen, der Landwirtschaft, der Raumordnung und des Umweltschutzes Rechnung zu tragen.
Der Kanton richtet die eigenen volkswirtschaftlich bedeutsamen Tätigkeiten auf die Ziele der kantonalen Wirtschafts- und Sozialpolitik aus.
