BE IT ENACIED by the President , by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Re presentatives, in this present Parliamenl

assembled, and by the authority of tbe same as follows:-

I. ( I) This Act may be cited as the Social Sccurity(Coming inlo

Force of Certain Ame ndments) Act, 1994 and shall be read Ind "

conslrued as onc with the Social Security (Amendmenl ) Act, 1994. Aa No. XX V

hereinafter referred to as Mlhe principal Act ~ .

(2) This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the

21s1 October. 1994, and the provisions o!subsection (2) of section I of

the principal Act shall be deemed as never having come into foroe prior

10 the amendment made by 5ectkm 2 0fthis Act , and the Social Security ea,. lIS.

Act shall be read and construed accordingl y.

Sectio n 1 of the principal Act shall be amended as follows :-

(a ) in the Maltese tut of subsectio n (I) thereof. for the

words "is-Sigurd Sotjali, hawnhekk" , there shall be substituted

(he words " is.Siguna SotjaJ i, u ghaodu jinqara u jinftihem hap

wal'lda ma ' I-At! dwar is-SigunA Sotjali, ltawnhekk" ; and

(b) fo r subsectio n (2) thereof, there shall be substituted the

following :-

"(2) This Act shall be deemed to have come into force as

follows: -

(a) sections 2 and 3, S to 7, paragraphs (b) to (d) of

section 8, sections 91024, 261029,32 to 37 and section 39

shall be deemd to have come inlo force on 1st January,

1994;

(b)

paragraph (a) of section 8 shall be deemed 10

have come into force o n 1st Octo ber. 1994 ;

(c) section 2S shall be deemed to have: come: inlO

force on the 4th January, 1992;

(d) sections 30 and 3 1 shall come into force o n the

enactmen t of this Act; and

(c:) sections 4 and 38 shall be deemed 10 have: come

into force on 3rd January, 1994. ~.
